The D-18 was always Martin’s workhorse dreadnought that did everything from recording to cutting through the mix of a live band. The Mahogany back and sides really seem to even out the typical Martin low end (potentially muddy) boom and provide a mid range boost. The result is a guitar that both records well and hangs in a live setting.
This 1966 D-18 is in great shape and is an excellent example of great Martin dreadnought tone. It's currently set up with low action and plays great up and down the neck. Prior work includes a neck reset, bridge reglue with slight sanding on the treble side, reglued nut, reglued pickguard and glued center seam. It retains all the original parts with the exception of a newer Martin hard shell case.
