The Harmony Bobkat platform was offered in various configurations from 1963 until about 1971. It featured an offset style body and DeArmond manufactured wiring harness and pickups. The Holiday branded instruments made by Harmony were sold through the Alden catalog and were basically the same guitars with minor differences. One rare version of the Harmony Bobkat is the three pickup Holiday.
This 1965 Holiday is in great playing condition with all original parts. The three DeArmond Golden Tone pickups have individual on/off rocker switches which allows for unique tonal combinations. The middle pickup is wired out of phase from the neck and the bridge which can give you that strat sound. The control layout is master volume-tone-tone-tone so you can dial in each pickup the way you like it. The 24" scale length is the same as the Fender Jaguar but the neck profile is a larger C shape that doesn't taper from the nut to the body.
The Bobkat platform (H14, H15, H16, H17 and Sillhouette) has been a hot seller in the affordable section of the vintage market. The gold foil pickups are hot and bright so I find the neck pickup to be just right.
