1964 Gibson ES-345 TDC

Regular price $15,995.00

Check out this killer wide 1964 Gibson ES-345 with factory stop bar tailpiece! It's been converted to mono output so there's no messing with a stereo cable. The original varitone switch and choke has been removed, but there's a working repro switch in place. The original patent number pickups are undisturbed and have the classic warm Gibson sound.

Measurements: 8.3lbs (3.75 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.68" (42.7mm) wide at the nut (1 11/16" wide neck), 0.83" deep at the first fret, and 1.00" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 7.68k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 7.38k ohms.

Dates: The serial number "167332" falls within the range of Gibson guitars shipped in 1964. The wide neck and factory stop bar tailpiece support this ship date.

Originality: Converted to mono using the original potentiometers and capacitor. The varitone is a modern replacement and the original switch and choke are not present. The bridge is an original early 1960s Gibson ABR-1 gold bridge but is not original to this guitar. The tuners appear to be correct but with replaced buttons. It has holes from a previous Bigsby tailpiece at the end pin but not on the face of the body. The ground wire runs to the stop tail studs which are factory installed. The truss rod cover screws are replacements.

Playability: Excellent! The neck is straight, truss rod functions as intended, and the electronics are clean and operate as intended. The frets have wear but have been dressed and play nicely.

Condition: Good with no neck break or repair. There's a large area of buckle rash on the back of the body. There are three holes from a previous Bigsby at the end pin. The bridge post holes have been filled and redrilled in the correct spot.

Included: The original case is included with this guitar.
