1963 Gibson Les Paul Standard Cherry Double Guard Fat Neck

$1.00

It's our pleasure to introduce this one owner double pickguard 1963 Gibson Les Paul Standard in Cherry Red!  This was made just after Gibson transitioned back to the fat neck for mid 1963 and 1964. In fact, this guitar has the fattest neck I've ever seen on anything with the SG body style. While a heel crack is visible on the back, it did not extend into the neck pocket or tenon and needs no repair. It's as stable as any other LP SG.

Measurements: 8.7 lbs / 3.95 kg total weight. The neck measures 1.73" / 43mm wide at the nut, 0.84" deep at the first fret, and 1.00" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup measures 7.78k ohms and the bridge reads 7.89k ohms.

Originality: All parts, finish, and solder are original to this guitar except for a perfect refret inside the binding. It's a very expensive process, but we believe that frets over the binding do not belong on vintage Gibson guitars. It both looks original and plays like a dream.

Playability: Excellent! The neck is straight and action is low.

Condition: Excellent! The Cherry Red finish is vibrant and unfaded. The heel crack is visible on the back of the neck, but doesn't extend into the neck pocket. There is a bruise on the side of the headstock which was painted black by the original owner.

Included: This guitar comes with its original case.

Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all promptly shipped sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
