1953 Fender Esquire Blonde
This incredible survivor 1953 Fender Esquire was recently found in a barn on a property whose owner recently passed. It's surprisingly well preserved with all its original finish and parts except for a few capacitors, strap buttons, and a few screws. It didn't have a case, so we've added this killer reproduction Tosch case to round out the package. It's an awesome player and ready to go.
Measurements: 7.5lbs (3.4 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.67" wide at the nut, 0.93" deep at the first fret, and 1.00" deep at the 12th fret. The pickup reads 6.45k ohms.
Dates: The neck heel reads "TG 2 - 16 - 53" and the neck pocket of the body reads "TG 2 - 23 - 53".
Originality: All parts and finish are original to this guitar except the strap buttons (vintage replacements), a couple of screws, and the capacitors. The original bridge pickup was rewound by Tom Brantley to vintage correct specifications.
Playability: Amazing! The neck is dead straight, truss rod functions as intended, and the electronics are clean and operate as intended. The frets are small, but it's still fun to play with no divots.
Condition: Pretty worn and oxidized to perfect vintage mojo. There's a significant area on the bass side upper horn of the back that's been exposed to moisture. There's a tight and stable ~2" crack in the body near the end pin.
Included: A perfect reproduction case from Tosch is included.
Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
