Gibson Les Paul Special 1956
This 1956 Gibson Les Paul Special has just come in from the family of its original owner! It has survived in very nice condition inside its original Lifton hard shell case. It is completely original throughout except for the tuner buttons and one replaced dot inlay. It's a spectacular playing example that is ready to be played again!
Make and Model: Gibson Les Paul Special
Year: 1956. Serial number 6_9633, forward shifted bridge pickup, long bridge post bushings, single line Klusons, bumble bee capacitors.
Measurements: 7.8 lbs (3.5 kg) overall weight. Neck profile at the first fret = 0.93" (24mm), 12th fret = 1.04" (26.2mm).
Originality: All parts and case are original to this guitar except the tuner buttons and one replaced pearl dot inlay at the 15th fret!
Condition: Very good! There is typical finish checking and a small amount of dings and wear around the edges. The G string tuner button post is slightly bent but the tuner functions as intended.
Playability: Excellent. The neck is straight with a proper functioning truss rod. The frets are the original small frets with little wear. Players who prefer modern larger frets would want a refret. I personally love original small frets.
