This vintage 1976 Gibson ES-355 electric guitar in original Walnut color finish came through the shop a few years ago. It was a very fine guitar and a good example of a Norlin era make. I'm always a Gibson guitar buyer but I'm especially looking for ES-355 guitars. You can contact me here to sell a vintage Gibson guitar.

The top of Ted McCarty's Thinline Electric Spanish family of guitars debuted in late 1958 as the ES-355T. It featured all top of the line appointments including humbucking pickups, Ebony fretboard with large pearl block inlays, custom headstock overlay, gold plated hardware, and thick multi-ply binding throughout. The revolutionary thinline, semi-hollowbody design with humbucking pickups was a huge commercial success and all three versions are still in production today.
This 1976 Gibson ES-355 made in Nashville, TN has just come (edit: sold!) from the original owner and survived in excellent condition. She told us she used this guitar while studying music at Berklee. She ended up playing more classical guitar than electric after school and this one was largely forgotten about in her closet. All parts appear to be original to the guitar except for one volume knob. The neck is straight and the frets remain in excellent condition. The original pickguard shows light signs of the deterioration that the upgraded nitrate pickguards for ES-355s are known to do. It's still in good functioning condition so we're leaving it as is. We are including a recent TRS cable in the case.
