This vintage 1968 Gibson Melody Maker D electric guitar in Sparkling Burgundy Metallic finish came through the shop a few years ago. It wears its age proudly but was always a really fun guitar to play. I'm always a vintage Gibson guitar buyer but I especially love the Melody Maker guitars. From the 1968 Gibson catalog, "Melody Maker: Very easy on the budget, yet this one has everything. Ultra thin contoured solid body with single or double pickups and Gibson Vibrola. Great sound and easy to handle touch through a full scale and 22 frets. And many more good things like an "up" finish in Fire Engine Red or Pelham Blue."

This clean 1968 Gibson Melody Maker D has survived in unbelievably nice condition. It's finished in rare Sparkling Burgundy Metallic and includes its original case, strap, and 1/4" coily cable. All parts are original to the guitar except for the strings. We've done nothing except clean the fret board, polish frets, lube truss rod nut and adjust, clean/lubricate the potentiometers and switch, a wipe down with a dry cloth, and fresh set up with .010 gauge strings. It's now in excellent playing condition and sounds killer! We were very surprised at how full the neck profile feels even with the 1 9/16" nut. It's the same profile as our '68 ES-335. We're confident you'll love this clean 1968 Gibson Melody Maker D Sparkling Burgundy with original case (edit: sold!)
