The Silvertone 1488 was the top of the line solid body electric guitar in the Sears catalog in the 1960s. Made by Harmony in Chicago, the 1488 featured three DeArmond made gold foil pickups, individual rocker switches for each pickup and a unique volume-tone-tone-tone control layout. The Bobkat shaped body is actually slightly larger than the Harmony version.
This 1965 Silvertone 1488 is in excellent condition using all its original parts. The DeArmond pickups are high output and the unique rocker switching system allows for unique tonal combinations. The guitar is in excellent shape but does show light signs of wear including some nics, chips and dents. The pickguard has shrunk and required new screw holes for a few of the edge screws. The neck and frets are in great shape and the guitar is a joy to play. We're confident you'll love the tone and playability of this 1965 Silvertone 1488!
