Gibson Les Paul TV Model 1957
This 1957 Gibson Les Paul TV Model came in from the grandson of its original owner a few months ago! I've been holding it back so I could enjoy playing it for a bit before having to let it go. It's a spectacular playing example with no breaks or repairs.
Make and Model: Gibson Les Paul TV Model. Gibson shipment totals indicate that only 552 TV Model shipped in 1957 compared to 1,452 Specials and 2,959 Juniors.
Year: 1957. Serial number "7_7051". Forward shifted P-90 position (post-1956).
Measurements: 8 lbs even / 3.65kg overall weight. The neck profile measures 0.91" deep at the first fret and 0.96" deep at the 12th. The nut width measures exactly 1.70" (typical 1 11/16" wide nut). The P-90 measures 7.91k ohms resistance.
Originality: All finish, parts, and solder are original to the guitar except two solder joints. Its previous owner swapped in a complete harness one point because the volume pot had a little corrosion. I simply cleaned the potentiometer carefully then reinstalled the original harness disturbing only the hot lead to volume pot and braided wire ground to the back of the pot.
Playability: Excellent! It's a spectacular player. It plays exactly as the manufacturer intended it to play.
Condition: Very very clean with various nicks, dings, and scratches. The finish shows almost no fading or checking.
Included: Newer hard shell case. The original case was gone before I purchased it.
