Gibson Les Paul Custom 1960
This Gibson Les Paul Custom 1960 has sold, but I am looking for another to replace it. You can contact me here to Sell a Gibson, or here for help with Les Paul Serial Number lookup.
This Gibson Les Paul Custom 1960 has just come in from its sole owner since 1969! It's a great example of the legendary double 0 serial number range which has all 1959 features including the neck profile. The three original long magnet PAF pickups have never been opened. It has suffered no breaks or repairs, but has been lovingly played all its life. It's a fantastic playing example after a pro refret inside the binding.
Make and Model: Gibson Les Paul Custom
Year: 1960. Serial number 0_06xx ink stamped on the back of the headstock.
Measurements: '59 era neck profile measuring 0.85" depth at the first fret and 0.98" at the 12th. Total weight: 9.8 lbs / 4.45 kg.
Originality: All parts are original to the guitar except for period correct replaced vintage tuners, replaced era correct vintage strap buttons, reproduction catalin switch tip, reproduction saddles and intonation screws in original ABR-1, new frets, repro screw in the pickguard mount, replaced screw on the treble side of the Bigsby.
Playability: Excellent! The neck is straight, truss rod functions as intended, electronics are clean, and the refret is really nice. This one is ready for the stage or studio.
Notes: As I was on my way to buy it, I thought there was no way that this case was original to the guitar. The seller said he bought the guitar in this case in 1969 and never thought anything of it. The lid of the case shows no other impression but from this guitar. Not only that, but there is evidence of the initials "CEC" in cursive script having been on the bass side of the fretboard extension at some point in time. It's an exact match to the initials still on the lid of the case.
