SG Standard - An established favorite with completely new modern styling... with thinner, lighter weight, contoured body and deep double cutaway that provides easy access to all 22 frets." -- 1964 Gibson Catalog

Make and Model: Gibson SG Standard

Year: 1965 with all 1964 specifications (wide neck, nickel hardware), serial 286xxx, shipment ledger scan included, 1964 potentiometer codes.

Specifications:  1 11/16″ nut width, all nickel hardware, .78" neck depth at the first fret, .95" depth at the 12th fret, 6lbs 14oz. Potentiometer date codes: 137-64xx (137 = Chicago Telephone Supply, 64 = 1964, xx digits covered by solder).

Originality: All parts original except the strings!

Condition: Excellent! No breaks or repairs.

Playability: Excellent! It’s a dream to play. The neck is straight and the frets exhibit very little evidence of prior player wear.

Notes: Just in from the family of the original owner! This clean, wide neck Gibson SG Standard has survived with neck breaks or repairs. It's clear that Raul cherished his instrument and took great care of it. This guitar is a great example of how manufactures don't change specifications on January 1. It has all the '64 features including the wide neck, nickel hardware, and premium build.

I've included pictures of the neck pickup and cavity but the lead is too short to photograph the bridge pickup. I inspected the pickup and found it to be original with standard features and without signs of being tampered with. I'm confident you'll love this clean, golden era Gibson SG Standard!
