1965 Fender Jazzmaster Lake Placid Blue Metallic
The previous owner of this killer 1965 Fender Jazzmaster in original Lake Placid Blue Metallic custom color finish bought it from a newspaper ad in 1971 when he was only 14 years old! He played it for a few years but didn't stick with it much past that. It has survived in played but original condition and remains nicely playable today on all original parts. All it needed was a gentle cleaning, set up with new foam and neck shim, and an amplifier.
Measurements: 8.0 lbs (3.65 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.66" wide at the nut, 0.84" deep at the first fret, and 1.00" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 7.60k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 7.72k ohms.
Dates: The neck heel stamp reads "4AUG65B" where 4 = Jazzmaster model, AUG = August, 65 = 1965, and B = standard neck width (1 5/8"). The potentiometer codes read "304 6530" (304 = Stackpole, 65 = 1965, and 30 = 30th week of the year).
Originality: All original finish, solder, and parts are original to this guitar!
Playability: Excellent! The neck is straight with proper working truss rod, the original frets show little wear, and the electronics operate as intended.
Condition: Very good. The original Lake Placid Blue finish has a large area of buckle rash on the back with some flaking around it.
Included: A modern Fender Jazzmaster case is included.
Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
