1962 Gibson ES-335 Cherry Red
We purchased this incredibly clean late 1962 Gibson ES-335 TDC from the grandson of its original owner after his grandfather passed. I asked if there were any pictures surviving of the guitar with the original owner, and I was thrilled when he sent the black and white photo dated June 1963 with both the 335 and the Maestro Reverb amp.
Features: PAF sticker on the neck pickup, patent number sticker on the bridge pickup. The original ABR-1 bridge does not have the wire retainer. Transitional neck profile with medium shape at the first fret and sort of slim profile at the 12th fret.
Measurements: 8.0 lbs / 3.60 kg total weight. The neck measures 1.67"/ 42.4mm wide at the nut, 0.85" deep at the 1st fret, and 0.90" deep at the 12th fret (medium profile shape at the first fret, sort of slim at the 12th). The neck pickup reads 8.04k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 9.06k ohms.
Originality: 100% original with no breaks, repairs, or modifications.
Playability: Killer! The neck is straight, the original frets show little wear, and the electronics function as intended.
Condition: Amazing. The original Cherry finish is vibrant and unfaded. There's typical nicks and checking and there are no breaks or repairs.
Included: The original case, case key, tune-o-matic bridge instructions, and humbucking pickup adjustment sheet are included.
Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
