1962 Fender Stratocaster Olympic White

$84,995.00

This early 1962 Fender Stratocaster in original custom color Olympic White is a stunning example of a 100% original and completely uncirculated vintage guitar offered to the market for the first time ever. I was thrilled to find all its original case candy including the hang tag, instruction manual, tolex tag, strap, and bridge cover when I opened the lid of the case pocket. It was an immense privilege to purchase it directly from its original owner in person at the library in Broken Bow, Oklahoma only a few weeks ago.

This early 1962 Fender Stratocaster has all the important features of the finest Stratocasters ever made: slab Rosewood fretboard, original custom color Olympic White with no clear coat, desert sand undercoat, and mint green guard. The all important interior features confirm the original finish including clear nail holes, checking parallel to the strings, sharp cavity edges, thin worm rout fibers, undisturbed solder, and no evidence of any other finish or touch up of any kind. It's a dream find that I'm proud to debut.

Measurements: 7.8lbs (3.5 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.69" wide at the nut, 0.84" deep at the first fret, and 1.00" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 6.01k ohms, the middle pickup reads 5.78k ohms, and the bridge pickup reads 5.83k ohms.

Dates: The potentiometer codes read "304 6232" (304 = Stackpole, 62 = 1962, and 32 = 32nd week of the year). We did not remove the neck to check the date.

Originality: 100% original parts and finish. All solder is undisturbed except for the eyelet on the finish side of the middle pickup (solder reflowed which saved the original coil - ask me about this). The original owner inscribed his name and SSN on the neck plate.

Playability: Amazing! The neck is dead straight, truss rod functions as intended, and the electronics are clean and operate as intended. The frets have nearly their full life ahead of them.

Condition: Excellent with typical nicks, dings, scratches, and checking. The treble side top tip of the pickguard has a crack but is secure.

Included: The hang tag with matching serial number, Tolex tag, instruction manual, leather strap, case, bridge cover, and tremolo arm are included with this guitar.

Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
