1961 Gibson Les Paul Standard Cherry Red

Check out this clean 1961 Gibson Les Paul Standard that's just come in from the family of its original owner! This Les Paul with SG body style has never had a neck break or repair. It's 100% original inside and out except for two replaced tuner buttons on original machines. It's a fantastic playing example with unopened original Patent Applied For humbucking pickups. I was thrilled to find that it has a slightly beefier neck profile that is a few hundredths of an inch fatter than the typical thin blade neck found on early SG body Les Paul Standards. 

Measurements: 7.6lbs (3.45 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.69" wide at the nut, 0.82" deep at the first fret, and .90" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 7.10k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 7.90k ohms. 

Dates: The die stamped serial number "35379" indicates that it shipped in the fall of 1961.

Originality: All parts, finish, and solder are original except for two tuner buttons. 

Playability: Very good. The neck is straight with proper working truss rod, the original frets show little wear, and the electronics operate as intended. 

Condition: Good with typical nicks, dings, and scratches. It's never had a neck break or repair. 

Included: The original pebble hardshell case with Gibson tag is included.
