1961 Gibson Les Paul Standard Cherry
Couldn't load pickup availability
We're beyond pleased to offer this 1961 Gibson Les Paul Standard in it's original cherry finish. This clean example represents the first full year of Les Paul production using the "SG" body style and sideways vibrola. We acquired this guitar from the daughter of its original owner. Apart from previous Grover tuners and a toggle switch tip, it's original and unmodified.
Measurements: 7.6 lbs (3.45 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.72" wide at the nut, 0.80" deep at the first fret, and 0.92" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 7.72k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 7.80k ohms.
Originality: The original tuners are currently installed with conversion bushings (previous Grover tuners required slight enlargement of the tuner post holes). The switch tip is a modern replacement. The three small slot screws holding the clam shell onto the vibrato tailpiece are replacements.
Playability: Excellent. The neck is dead straight, truss rod functions as intended, frets have little wear, and the electronics are clean and operate as intended.
Condition: Very good with typical nicks, dings, and scratches. There is a slight halo line around the tuner bushings from the prior Grover washers. There is light fading of the Cherry Red stain in the forearm area of the body. There are no cracks or repairs.
Included: The original chipboard case is included with this Les Paul Standard.
Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
