1960 Gibson ES-345TD Watermelon/Long Guard/Stop Tail
We purchased this 100% original and near mint example of the Freddie spec 1960 ES-345 directly from its original owner in Madison, Alabama only a few weeks ago. Of all the guitars that Freddie King is photographed playing, my favorite is the Cherry (Watermelon)/long guard/stop tail 1960 Gibson ES-345 TD. Gibson made very few examples of the model with these three features since the Watermelon red and long pickguard were no longer available by early 1961.
Measurements: 8.2 lbs / 3.75 kg total weight. The neck measures 1.67" / 42.418 mm wide at the nut, 0.82" deep at the first fret, and 0.89" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup measures 7.55k ohms and the bridge pickup measures 7.75k ohms.
Originality: All parts, finish, and solder is original to this guitar.
Playability: Excellent. The neck is dead straight, truss rod functions as intended, frets have very little wear, and the electronics are clean and operate as intended.
Condition: Incredible! It's near mint with no finish deterioration anyway. The gold parts have minimal oxidation.
Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
