1960 Gibson ES-345 Cherry Red

Regular price $31,995.00

This clean 1960 Gibson ES-345 in original long guard, factory stop bar tailpiece, and Cherry Red (Watermelon) finish has just come in from the son of its original owner! Apart from a mono conversion with Varitone switch retained, it's original and undisturbed. Both original PAF pickups with black bobbins are unopened with original solder. It's a factory stop bar tailpiece example that never had a Bigsby or other tailpeice. It's a spectacular player with no neck repair and nice feeling original frets and nut.

Measurements: 8.5lbs (3.85 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.66" wide at the nut, 0.82" deep at the first fret, and 0.90" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup measures 7.61k ohms and the bridge pickup measures 7.11k ohms.

Dates: The serial number "A 34534" indicates that it shipped in the Fall of 1960.

Originality: Original except for mono converted harness with potentiometers and Varitone switch from 1980. The original tuners have replacement single ring buttons just like the original. The original chicken head style varitone knob is included, but the 1980 varitone has a solid shaft, so a replacement tip is currently installed.

Playability: Excellent! The neck is dead straight, truss rod functions as intended, and the electronics are clean and operate as intended.

Condition: Good with typical nicks, dings, and scratches throughout. It has suffered no breaks or repairs.

Included: The original case, hang tag, humbucker adjustment sheet, and bridge adjustment sheets are included with this guitar.

Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
