1959 Gibson ES-345 T Sunburst with tags

Regular price $1.00

This tagged-up 1959 Gibson ES-345 T—one of only 446 shipped in the first year of the model—has just come in from the family of its original owner out of Minnesota. It’s 99% original, with nothing but a single tuner button replaced; the shards of the original are still found in the pocket of the case. I was thrilled to find all the original hang tags, the perfect medium neck profile (0.85" - 0.95"), and unopened double-white bobbin PAFs. I asked the granddaughter of its original owner if there were any pictures surviving of him playing the guitar, and she came through with three originals! It’s a fantastic guitar with no breaks or repairs. Apart from some buckle rash on the back of the body, it’s exceptionally clean.

Measurements: 8.2lbs (3.70 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.68" wide at the nut, 0.85" deep at the first fret, and 0.95" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 7.85k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 8.32k ohms.

Dates: The "S" factory order number prefix indicates that the build began in 1959 and the "A 32126" serial number indicates that the guitar shipped from Gibson in the fall of 1959.

Originality: All parts, finish, and solder are original except for one replaced tuner button.

Playability: Very good. The neck is straight with proper working truss rod, the original have wear, and the electronics operate as intended. It needs nothing but a light fret dress in two areas.

Condition: Very good with buckle rash on the back of the body.

Included: Everything except the Bassman Amp is included! The original Lifton hardshell case, four pictures of its original owner, every hang tag, the grey stereo cable, the yellow handle screwdriver, and a Gibson box of strings that was in the case.

Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
