1958 Gibson Les Paul Special

Regular price $17,995.00

I'm excited to introduce this great 1958 Gibson Les Paul Special in original Limed Mahogany finish that's survived in nice condition and remains a great player. It has suffered no breaks or repairs and all parts are original to the guitar. The finish on the front is scored from some stickers it had at one point, but they don't draw the eye too much. In my opinion, 1958 is the best year for all Les Paul guitars.

Measurements: 7.7 lbs / 3.5 kg total weight. The neck measures 1.70"/ 43mm wide at the nut, 0.90" deep at the 1st fret, and 1.00" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 8.1k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 8.2k ohms.

Originality: All parts, finish, and solder appear to be original to this guitar!

Playability: Good! The neck is straight and the electronics function as intended. The original frets have light wear considering its age, but they start life as the typical mid 1950s small fret. Players used to modern frets would find these a bit small.

Condition: Good. The finish on the front is scored from some previously applied stickers. There's a rough spot on the back of the body from what appears to have been another sticker. There's a half inch chunk of the outside edge of the headstock wing missing on the treble side of the headstock. Apart from those two issues, it's a typical lightly worn '58 Special.

Included: A newer hard shell case is included.

Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
