1956 Gibson Les Paul TV Model

This 1956 Gibson Les Paul TV Model has just come from the family of its original owner local to me in Birmingham, Alabama. It's a well loved but clean and tidy example that's still in nice playing condition. It comes from the very small time period of both the factory long bushings and the pickup placement shifted back towards the bridge. This the only example I've observed with both features. Apart from some disturbed solder, it's untouched and retains all its original parts and finish with no breaks or repairs.

Measurements: 9.0 lbs (4.1 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.71" (1 11/16", 43mm) wide at the nut, 0.92" deep at the first fret, and 1.02" deep at the 12th fret (fat profile). The pickup reads 7.82k ohms.

Dates: The ink stamp serial number prefix "6" indicates it was made in 1956. The potentiometer code reads "134 605" (134 = Centralab, 6 = 1956, and 05 = 5th week of the year. 

Originality: All parts and finish appear to be original to this guitar, but many of the solder joints in the control cavity have been reflowed. 

Playability: Very good. The neck is straight and the electronics operate as intended. The original small frets show typical wear, but even so, I found to be fun to play. You may wish to refret the guitar if you like modern size frets. 

Condition: Good. There's typical finish check, nicks, and dings, but no breaks or repairs. 

Included: The original chipboard case is included, but it's very worn and not suitable to store the guitar. You'll receive both the original case and a modern hardshell case.
