How to Sell Your Fender Guitar:
It's easy to sell a modern Fender guitar on websites like eBay or Reverb, but high end vintage Fender guitars are different. For older Fender guitars worth over $10,000, selling to a specialized dealer like True Vintage Guitar can save you the risk, work, and hassle. Here's how you can sell your classic Fender guitar:
1. Contact True Vintage Guitar: Tell us the story of your precious Fender guitar. It’s even better to include a picture of your Fender. Include a contact method so we can reach you.
2. Discussion of value: We are happy to help identify your guitar and share some comparable sale prices to assess its value. You can tell us your price or we can make an offer for you to consider.
3. Sell Your Fender: If our price is right for you, then we can complete your sale in 24 hours or less with no risk to you.
In Person or Shipping? Our purchase agreement is signed electronically and includes protections from shipping liability for you. Or for higher end Fender guitars, we may just hop on a plane to meet you - anywhere in the world.

How much can I sell my Fender?
We have bought vintage Fender guitars from $2,000 up to $200,000. Over the past 15 years, John has spent over two million dollars buying classic Fenders - making him one of the foremost Fender guitar buyers in the world.
Here are the steps to determine how much you can sell your Fender guitar for:
1. Identify the year, model, color, and important features. Accurate identification is the first step to finding its value - we can help.
2. Research comparable asking prices: How much would it cost to buy a similar Fender today?
3. Research actual sale prices: It's important to weigh the current asking prices against what similar Fenders actually sold for in the past.
Want to learn more about accurately identifying your Fender to find the value? I wrote these guides to empower you with the knowledge you need to sell your Fender:

Places to sell Fender guitars:
The best way to sell a Fender guitar depends on the value of the guitar, your experience selling vintage guitars, and your tolerance for risk, time, and work.
eBay, Reverb, or Marketplace: Good for selling newer Fender guitars less than $10,000. Low trust required, insurance is readily available, low experience required, but you'll be responsible for the work involved.
Specialized dealer like True Vintage Guitar: Best way to sell expensive vintage Fender guitars where buyers require trust and experience from the seller. True Vintage Guitar provides protection from insurance liability, knowledge and experience, and money ready to buy today. Get paid in about 24 hours if you desire a prompt sale.
Auction houses: Can be good for selling high end vintage, but usually requires much more time and the sale prices vary based on market conditions. Auction houses typically take 25% of the sale price as their commission.
The best way to sell a Fender guitar depends on the value of your Fender, your expertise in selling vintage guitars, how long you're willing to wait, and your comfort level with risk in transport.

Fenders We've Bought: 1957 Stratocaster Red with Gold Guard
Perhaps the most special Fender guitar I've had the pleasure to buy is this 1957 Fender Stratocaster in original red finish which was custom made for a close personal friend of Leo Fender: Roy Lanham. Roy was a career working guitarist in Los Angeles and was often tapped to promote Fender guitars. Leo gave him this '57 Strat to play - but I didn't know that when the family reached out to me to sell the guitar.
The family of a different professional musician reached out to me to sell the red Strat. Apparently Roy had returned the Strat in favor of a Jazzmaster. It was passed onto the banjo player - but when he passed away, the story of the guitar never made it to his nephew.
I returned home from Albuquerque, NM after paying six figures cash for this incredibly rare and custom 1957 Stratocaster. I was going through all my books on Fender guitars when I came across the monochrome photo in a book which described Roy Lanham and the mineral streak on his Stratocaster - and that's when it hit me. This was the same guitar! Roy Lanham's Stratocaster had been found.

Frequently Asked about Selling Vintage Fender Guitars
What's the best way to sell a vintage Fender guitar?
That depends on the value of the guitar and your experience level with vintage guitars. If your Fender is worth over $10,000, selling to a high end dealer like True Vintage Guitar will help you avoid the problems of shipping risk, trust of the buyer, and proper evaluation. If your Fender is worth less than $10,000, you may be better served by selling yourself on websites like Reverb.com or eBay.com.
How long does the selling process take?
We can close your deal with money in your account in less than 24 hours if you like.
I want to sell but I don't want to ship?
We hear you. We travel worldwide to buy for the highest end Fender guitars in person. For most Fenders, we take the shipping risk out of your sale via our purchase agreement and account with FedEx. We will cover the cost of professional packing, overnight shipping, and full insurance with our third party insurance company. Our agreement guarantees your safety when you sell.
Where can I read reviews from other sellers?
Check out all the reviews on Google here: True Vintage Guitar Reviews on Google. We strive for 5 star service every time we help people sell their guitars. If we get the priviledge to do business with you, we hope that we will live up to the standard that these sellers have kindly confirmed. We hope that you'll consider taking the time to review our service too!
What do you do with the guitars after you buy?
We begin by inspecting, cleaning, and adjusting the guitar so that it can play like the professional instrument that it was meant to be when new. After that, the choice must be made: will we keep it forever? or list it for sale now? Or will it be placed into long term hold for John? We can't make that decision until we get the privilege to play and enjoy it.
What Our Clients Say About Us
Had an amazing experience dealing with John from true vintage guitar. I had a beautiful 1965 Stratocaster that came into my shop with the owner looking to sell. John made the process so incredibly easy and guided me through every step. He was incredibly generous with his time and was also incredibly honest about the instruments value. I am based in Australia so it was a bit daunting to send such a valuable guitar overseas. However John gave detailed instructions on how to pack and prep the guitar for shipment. Payment was delivered within hours of it being delivered to True Vintage Guitar. Myself and my client couldn't have been happier with how it went and we are truly grateful to True Vintage Guitar

True Vintage Guitar Reviews - A Trusted 5 Star Dealer
From Brian, after I purchased his 1961 Fender Stratocaster
John and his assistant Walter, were very professional and courteous, their shipping process for out of town buying was as good as if not better than that had we completed the transaction in the store. They offered a fare and reasonable price for the 1961 See-Thru Blonde Stratocaster we sold them. The sale took only 2 days to complete. Thanks John, wishing you the best!
From Tonya, after I purchased her 1960 Fender Telecaster
"Not knowing a great deal about the guitar I had. I contacted John through the internet. John called me within 10 minutes. He had me send him photos and information on the guitar. He told me exactly what I had, and what it would appraise for. He was a pleasure to talk to. John was very informative. After talking on the phone we corasponded through text & email. He followed through on everything he told me on the phone. We had the deal done for purchase within a few days. What a blessing this company is! I can't say enough. Also, Walter a big thank you for helping me through all the instructions."
