Gibson ES-335 1963
I've just returned from Illinois after purchasing this 1963 Gibson ES-335 TDC with factory stop bar tailpiece and two PAF pickups from its sole owner since the early 1970s! It has never had any repairs or modifications of any kind. It's an excellent example of all the cool wide neck era features including mickey mouse ear bouts and nickel hardware.
Make and Model: Gibson ES-335 TDC
Year: 1963. Serial number 106698, block fretboard markers, wide neck, PAF pickups.
Measurements: 8.3 lbs / 3.75 kg total weight. Wide nut width measuring 1 11/16". The neck profile measures 0.81" deep at the first fret and 0.95" at the 12th fret.
Originality: All parts, finish, and solder are original to the guitar except the strings! The previous owner threw away the original case. There are no extra holes on the body from a prior tailpiece. The smooth tolex case in the pictures is included with this listing but is not original to the guitar.
Playability: Excellent! This killer ES-335 operates exactly as the manufacturer intended with a straight neck, perfect original frets with no wear, and proper working electronics.
Condition: Excellent! The finish has the typical random nicks, dings, and scratches. There is a small scratch from a belt buckle on the back of the body. The mounting ring for the bridge pickup has 6 indentions which appear to have been made to make it easier to access the intonation screws with a screwdriver.
