Fender Stratocaster 1964 Candy Apple Red Metallic
This vintage Fender Stratocaster 1964 in original Candy Apple Red finish has been around the block but plays like a dream! I purchased it from its sole owner since it was bought used in a pawn shop in 1972. It's just had its first refret and is ready for the stage, studio, or collection.
Make and Model: Fender Stratocaster
Year: 1964. Serial number L42xxx, neck heel ink stamp "2JUL64B" (2 = Stratocaster model, JUL = July, 64 = 1964, B = standard nut width 1 5/8"), potentiometer code 137 6422 (137 = CTS, 64 = 1964, 22 = 22nd week).
Measurements:
Originality: All parts and finish appear to be original except: frets, some wiring (neck pickup leads, output jack leads, ground wire), period correct three position switch, neck pickup rewound, masking tape.
Playability: Excellent! The frets are perfect, neck is straight, and the truss rod works as intended. The pots, switch, and jack have been cleaned and operate as intended.
