1965 Gibson SG TV (Junior White)
Gibson's SG TV model electric guitar, often referred to as an SG Junior in Polaris White finish, was offered in the price list from 1962 until 1968. "White" was the standard finish listed for the model along with its single P-90 pickup and Gibson Vibrola tailpiece. It featured the wider 1 11/16" nut width until late 1965.
Make and Model: Gibson SG TV
Year: 1965, serial 274xxx, wide neck, double line Kluson tuners
Specifications: Weight = 6 lbs 13oz, nut width = 1 11/16" (wide nut), neck depth at the first fret = .82", depth at 12th = 1.03"
Originality: All parts are original to the guitar except for a vintage 1960s Gibson volume knob, one pointer bushing, and reproduction tremolo arm. The case is a Gibson from the late 1960s.
Condition: Very good! No breaks or repairs. The finish shows typical heavy checking common to the white finish.
Playability: Excellent! The truss rod works properly and the neck is straight. There is some fret wear in the first five frets but it doesn't affect playability.
Notes: This killer vintage 1965 Gibson SG TV has just come from the nephew of the original owner! I was happy to find an original finish with no repairs, wide neck, and a hot P-90 pickup. It was missing the volume knob and vibrola arm when I got it so I sourced the proper parts. It's now in killer playing condition and ready go. I'm confident you'll love this vintage 1965 Gibson SG TV!
