Gibson ES-355 T Mono 1961
Couldn't load pickup availability
This clean 1961 Gibson ES-355 T in original mono configuration has just come in from the family of its second owner! A previous owner swapped the side pull vibrato for a Bigsby tailpiece. The Bigsby is really stable and stays in tune much better than any side pull I've played.
Measurements: 8.5 lbs / 3.85 kg total weight. The neck measures 1.69"/ 42.7mm wide at the nut, 0.80" deep at the 1st fret, and 0.86" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 7.80k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 8.71k ohms.
Originality: All finish, solder, and parts appear to be original to this guitar except for the Bigsby tailpiece.
Playability: Killer! The neck is straight, the original frets show little wear, and the electronics function as intended.
Condition: Very nice. There's a ~4" hairline crack on the back of the neck in line with the truss rod. This is common for 1961 and 1962 since the necks were slim and the truss rod channel was still deep. It's not structural, doesn't move, and wouldn't benefit from being glued.
Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
