1962 Fender Jaguar Foam Green

Regular price $64,995.00

This 1962 Fender Jaguar in original custom color Foam Green finish is the absolute pinnacle example of the model this collector has ever seen. Not only is it finished in one of the rarest Fender custom colors, it's also made with an overlap of features found only on offset Fender guitars made during the Spring of 1962: the matching headstock with slab Rosewood fretboard. The matching headstock on custom color offset guitars was introduced as standard in the first few months of 1962, but the slab fretboard was discontinued in favor of the veneer fretboard in the summer of that year. Oh, and there's no extra charge for the western suits that accompanied the guitar from the widow of its original owner who walked it into our friend Eliot's Rumbleseat Music guitar shop a few years ago. It's 100% factory original down to the foam under the pickups and the original neck shims.

Measurements: 8.6lbs (3.90 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.63" wide at the nut, 0.86" deep at the first fret, and 1.02" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 6.56k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 6.90k ohms.

Dates: The neck heel date stamp reads "1 MAY 62 B" where 1 = Jaguar model, MAY = May, 62 = 1962, and B = standard neck width 1 5/8". The potentiometer codes read "304 6213" (304 = Stackpole, 62 = 1962, and 13 = 13th week of the year).

Originality: 100% original finish, parts, and solder.

Playability: Excellent. The bridge mute foam is fully deteriorated, but the foam under the pickups is still springy. The frets show virtually no wear. The neck is straight and the electronics function as intended. Please ask if you'd like for me to replace the bridge mute foam.

Condition: Incredible. It didn't require any cleaning except for a wipe down with a dry cloth. There's a half inch area of finish on the back of the neck next to the tuners that appears to have reacted with a vinyl cable.

Included: Both western suites, original case, bridge cover, Fender box of strings, leather strap, and a poster with its original owner.

Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
