1953 Gibson Les Paul Model

Regular price $29,995.00

This killer 1953 Gibson Les Paul goldtop has been played and loved its entire life but never abused. The original finish has a light overspray on the front of the headstock and back of the body, but untouched original gold finish on the front of the body. It's got significant forearm wear, but never any neck break or repair. All solder and parts are original to this guitar except the two thumbwheels. Amazingly, the original jack plate is present and intact!

Measurements: 9.0 lbs / 4.5 kg total weight. The neck measures 1.70"/ 43mm wide at the nut, 0.92" deep at the 1st fret, and 1.02" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 7.7k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 9.6k ohms.

Originality: The finish on the headstock and back of the body have a light layer of old overspray. The thumbwheels on the bridge height adjustment are modern reproduction parts. All other finish, solder, and parts appear to be original to this guitar.

Playability: Good! The neck is straight and the electronics function as intended. The original frets have wear but aren't so worn that it isn't fun to play. Players used to modern frets would find these a bit small.

Condition: Good. The gold finish exhibits beautiful checking patterns. The catalin switch tip has a hairline crack in it but appears to be stable. There are no previous neck breaks or repairs.

Included: A 1980s Protector case is included.
