This 1966 Fender Jaguar in rare custom color Black with matching headstock is my current shop favorite. I spent a little time dialing in the setup and enjoying the tone through a 1984 Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer and 1960 Gibson GA-5 amp. The tube screamer was for a little compression and a tone knob since the GA-5 doesn't have one.

Black was a rather rare color for Fender in the 1960s; so rare that they never made a decal in reverse colors so that the model name would show on the headstock. Instead of making a different label just for a few guitars, Fender used the standard gold "Fender" logo but clipped of the black model name. You can barely see the sharp line on the edge of the label on the headstock. We love vintage Fender guitars especially the offset Jaguar and Jazzmaster models. The iconic styling is just as relevant today as it was back in 1966. Do you have a Fender guitar that you would like to sell? Reach out to us here at our Buying Page to send pictures of your guitar.
