This clean vintage 1974 Gibson ES-335 Cherry Red electric guitar came through the shop a few years ago. It's a nice example with original hard shell case, owner's manual, and case key. I'm always a vintage Gibson guitar buyer but I especially love ES-335 guitars from the late 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Please contact me here to sell a vintage Gibson guitar.

Ted McCarty's tenure as president of Gibson from 1949 until 1966 resulted in many great advancements in the electric guitar but his finest may be the ES-335 model in 1958. The design took advantage of Gibson's reputation for warm hollow body tone but also decreased the propensity to feedback at high stage volumes. The thin body was comfortable to hold and and the tune-o-matic bridge (another McCarty innovation) resulted in excellent intonation. It introduced a whole new segment of the guitar market: the semi-hollow body electric guitar.
This 1974 Gibson ES-335td featuring a Cherry finish and patent number pickups has just come from the original owner. He played in a wedding band but kept the guitar in excellent condition with no modifications or repairs. It's a factory second likely because of the dark streak in the back of the neck. All parts appear to be original to the guitar and are in good working condition. The frets show wear but have a lot of life left in them. The original hang tag, case key, and case with replaced handle are included (edit: sold!)
