This vintage 1966 Gibson ES-330 Cherry Red electric guitar came through the shop a few years ago. I'm always a vintage Gibson guitar buyer but I especially love the 1960s thinline archtop electric guitar. Please contact me here to sell a vintage Gibson guitar.
Check out a few other vintage Gibson ES-330 guitars that have come through True Vintage Guitar:
The ES-330 was Gibson's mid level thinline electric guitar. Unlike the ES-335, the ES-330 was fully hollow with no solid Maple block running the length of the guitar. It also featured two P-90 pickups and a neck that joined the body at the 16th. The thin, hollow body allows for great F hole style warmth without excessive feedback at low to mid gain levels. It also allows for a very pleasurable playing experience when one wants to play the guitar but an amplifier just isn't an option.
This 1966 Gibson ES-330 TDC is in gorgeous, almost unbelievably original and clean condition. I purchased this guitar from the grandson of the original owner outside of Houston, TX. Grandpa was sort of a jack of all trades and dabbled in many hobbies. He purchased this Gibson new back in the 1960s but never really learned how to play. It went back in the case for the majority of its life. As a result, this guitar has had no changes, repairs or modifications. It doesn't even have any finish checking. The only thing I've done to this guitar is change the strings. There is but one small ding in the finish on the top of the bass bout near the F hole. That ding was caused by one of the case lid latches. It appears to be the only significant wear one the guitar. The rest is just very tiny hairline scratches that don't penetrate even the first layer of lacquer. You'll find the neck to be straight and the frets to have an almost factory amount of life on them. The pickups are strong and pots and switch function like new. The case is in good structural condition and shows a very moderate amount of wear on the exterior. All latches function properly.
This 1966 Gibson ES-330 TDC is a no excuses guitar that's sure to delight even the most discerning player and collector alike. I'm very confident that you will feel the same way. (edit: sold!)
