This clean vintage 1962 Gibson LG-2 acoustic guitar in Cherry Sunburst original finish came through the shop last year. It was a fine example of a small body acoustic Gibson guitar from the early 1960s. I'm always a Gibson guitar buyer but I'm especially looking vintage Gibson acoustic guitars from the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. You can contact me here to sell a vintage Gibson guitar.
"LG-2 ADJ -- Popular for its rich cherry sunburst top... for its mellow resonant tone... for its fine Gibson quality at a modest price. Has slim, fast, low-action, one-piece Honduras Mahogany with adjustable truss rod... selected Spruce top, Rosewood fingerboard and adjustable bridge... pearl dot inlays, large tortoise shell finish rest (maybe they meant finger rest?), and nickel plated enclosed machine heads." -- 1962 Gibson catalog
Make and Model: Gibson LG-2 ADJ
Year: 1962. Serial 53xxx. The last year of the LG-2 model name.
Specifications: 14 1/2" wide body, solid Sitka Spruce top with X style bracing, Mahogany back and sides, wide 1 11/16" nut,
Originality: All parts original to the guitar except the strings!
Condition: Very good with professional headstock repair. We also reglued the bridge and a few loose braces.
Playability: Excellent! This is a professionally playable instrument with very fine tone. The top is lightly braced and responsive to both fingerstyle players and heavier strummers.
Notes: From the last year of the LG-2! This wide nut LG-2 is a lovely sounding instrument that's very attractively priced as a result of the headstock repair. It's very well executed and the neck is 100% stable. I've attempted to show the repair in pictures but it's tough to spot even in person. You'll love the tone, playability, and value of this '62 Gibson LG-2 ADJ!
