1966 Fender Stratocaster Candy Apple Red
Couldn't load pickup availability
Check out this clean 1966 Fender Stratocaster in factory original custom color Candy Apple Red Metallic that's just come in locally from its original owner! Apart from typical nicks/dings/scratches from normal playing over the past 59 years, it's in considerably nice condition and original throughout. It was missing two screws for the tremolo cover plate when it came in, but I hope you'll excuse those two screws as the only non-original parts on the guitar except the strings.
Measurements: 7.7lbs (3.5 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.64" wide at the nut, 0.90" deep at the first fret, and 0.92" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 5.89k ohms, the middle pickup reads 6.15k ohms, and the bridge pickup reads 5.75k ohms.
Dates: The neck heel stamp reads "13FEB66B" (13 = Stratocaster model, FEB = February, 66 = 1966, and B = standard neck width 1 5/8". The potentiometer codes read "137 6549" (137 = CTS, 66 = 1966, and 49 = 49th week of the year).
Originality: This has its original custom color finish with no overspray or refinish and all its original parts excepting two trem cover screws.
Playability: Excellent! The neck is dead straight, truss rod functions as intended, and the electronics are clean and operate as intended.
Condition: Very good with typical nicks, dings, scratches, checking and some appropriate finish wear on the back of the neck. There's an area of buckle rash on the back of the body exposing the white undercoat.
Included: The original case and tremolo arm are included with this guitar.
Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
