Fender Jazzmaster 1960 Factory Refinish Lake Placid Blue 1968

Fender Jazzmaster 1960 Factory Refinish Lake Placid Blue 1968

$14,995.00

If you look to the very back of the Fender Price Lists in the 1960s, you'll see a section in the back titled "Refinishing" with a price of $50 for pretty much everything except basses ($57.50 for those). It's a bit of a misnomer though, since Fender typically refinished the neck but simply replaced the bodies with a new one and finished it in the requested colo. This 1960 Fender Jazzmaster with factory update in 1968 to Lake Placid Blue Metallic is a great example of this uncommon factory option and a spectacular player to boot.

1960: Neck (slab board!, clay dots), pickups, electronics, pickguard, tuners, bridge, and tremolo tailpiece.

1968 Factory Work: New body, Lake Placid Blue Metallic finish with matching headstock and transitional logo (see neck pocket photo), witch hat knobs.

2023: Factory style refret

Measurements: 8.2 lbs / 3.7 kg. The neck measures 1.66" wide at the nut, .77" deep at the first fret, and .99" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 8.1k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 9.1k ohms.

Playability: 100%. This will be one of, if not THE best Jazzmasters you've ever played on the original bridge.

Needs?: Nothing.

Included: The original bridge cover and an early 1960s Jazzmaster case are included. The brown case is not original to this guitar.
