1966 Fender Jaguar Candy Apple Red
This vintage 1966 Fender Jaguar electric guitar in custom color Candy Apple Red Metallic finish with matching headstock has just come in from its original owner. It's in spectacular original condition and retains its original hang tag, bridge cover, and hard shell case.
Make and Model: Fender Jaguar in custom color Candy Apple Red Metallic
Year: 1966. Neck heel date stamp "15APR66B" (15 = Jaguar model, APR = April, 66 = 1966, B = standard nut width of 1 5/8"), serial number "142xxx", potentiometer date code "304-6617" (How to date Fender guitars with potentiometer codes) and also How To Date a Vintage Fender Jaguar Guitar
Condition: Excellent! This original custom color finish is extremely well preserved with one blemish on the bass side of the body between the bridge and tremolo. There is no observable fading of the red or clear coat.
Originality: All parts original except the rhythm/tremolo switch tip and the foam under the pickups and bridge mute. Original foam included.
Playability: Excellent! There is almost no fret wear, the neck is straight, and the truss rod operates as intended. I've set it up with a Stew Mac full neck pocket shim for maximum transfer of energy and no risk of rising tongue. I've replaced the hardened original foam with proper Fender brand foam for perfect pickup height relative to the strings. This will be among the best Jaguars you've ever played.
Notes: Candy Apple Red Metallic may be one of the more common custom colors but it's certainly uncommon to find them this clean from their original owner. I was thrilled to find the original hang tag, bridge cover, and case in excellent condition as well. I'm confident you'll love this 1966 Fender Jaguar in original Candy Apple Red Metallic finish!
