1962 Fender Stratocaster Fiesta Red

$1.00

Check out this killer 1962 Fender Stratocaster in original Fiesta Red custom color finish that's just come in from the family of its original owner! This pre-CBS Strat belonged to a working musician in Southern California named Benjamin Wharton. Wharton played professionally in his younger years until life and family became his primary gig. We were told that the Fiesta Stat was relegated to church and home gigs until his passing. I'm thrilled to offer it to the market for the first time since it was sold new.

Pre-CBS Fiesta Red custom color: This Stratocaster is a textbook example of the early Fiesta Red finish with desert sand undercoat and pre-paint stick neck pocket.

Measurements: 7.9 lbs / 3.55 kg total weight. The neck measures 1.66" at the nut, 0.80" deep at the first fret, and 0.96" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 6.49k ohms, the middle reads 6.27k ohms, and the bridge pickup reads 5.85k ohms. The neck heel date reads "2OCT62B" and the potentiometer codes indicate the 42nd week of 1962.

Originality: All finish, solder, and parts are original to this guitar except for the two tone knobs and switch tip (replacement parts are vintage - not reproduction). There are a few dabs of poorly matched touch up paint (nail polish?) on the back of the body.

Playability: Excellent. The neck is dead straight, truss rod functions as intended, frets have very little wear, and the electronics are clean and operate as intended.

Condition: Vibey and worn but not worn out. It has a healthy amount of finish distress in all the right places and typical nicks, dings, and scratches.

NOT Included: The original case, tremolo arm, and trem cavity cover plate were no longer with this Stratocaster by the time its original owner passed.

Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
