1961 Fender Jazz Bass Sunburst
We’re pleased to offer this 1961 Fender Jazz Bass in factory original Sunburst. This beautiful and well-loved example comes equipped with Fender's iconic stack volume and tone knobs. This feature changed to three knob electronics shortly after in August of the same year.
Make and Model: Fender Jazz Bass, factory original Sunburst
Year: 1961, serial 61665. The potentiometer codes read "137 6108" (137 = CTS, 61 = 1961, and 08 = 8th week).
Specifications: 34″ scale length Rosewood fretboard, 1.52″ nut width, .82″ neck depth at the first fret, 1″ neck depth at the 12th fret, 9.5lbs and 4.35kg.
Originality: All parts appear to be original. I replaced the foam underneath the pickups to gain proper height.
Condition: Good with a fair amount of finish wear from the original owner. You can clearly see the word "SUGAR" imprinted into the wood on the top left horn. The headstock has a sticker and cigarette burn marks. This bass has no breaks or repairs.
Playability: Excellent! The frets are in great condition and the neck is straight with a properly working truss rod.
Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
