1960 Fender Jazzmaster
This pre-CBS 1960 Fender Jazzmaster in original Sunburst finish with slab Rosewood fretboard has just come from the nephew of its original owner. It's in spectacular playing condition and is completely original and unmodified throughout. I was very thankful to the nephew for digging through the photo albums to find three pictures of this Jazzmaster with its original owner!
Make and Model: Fender Jazzmaster
Year: 1960. Neck heel pencil date "10/60", bridge pickup cavity pencil date "10/60", serial number 54xxx. Check out How to date a Fender Jazzmaster guitar.
Measurements: 8lbs 1oz total weight, neck depth at the first fret = 0.76", depth at the 12th fret = 0.98".
Originality: 100% no excuses, no caveats. Ok fine, I replaced the strings, but the old Gretsch brand flat wounds that were on the guitar when I got it are in the case.
Playability: Excellent! I've cleaned all potentiometers, switch, and output jack. The electronics function like new. I've also cleaned the frets and fretboard, adjusted the neck relief, and set up the bridge for optimum playability. This will be among the best Jazzmasters you've played, if not the best!
