1958 Gibson Les Paul Junior

1958 Gibson Les Paul Junior

$1.00

Jon was given 1958 Gibson Les Paul Junior for Christmas in 1963 as his first guitar. His parents purchased it for him used at a pawn shop. It's in spectacular condition and is a fantastic playing example of an early four digit with no "8" prefix double cut Les Paul Junior.

Make and Model: Gibson Les Paul Junior, Double Cutaway, Cherry Red

Year: 1958. No year prefix serial number, large neck profile. Check out How to date a Gibson Les Paul.

Measurements: Total weight = 6lbs 15oz, neck thickness at the first fret = .88", thickness at the 12th fret = 1.01"

Repairs/Mods: None.

Originality: All parts are original to the guitar except vintage correct volume/tone knobs and two screws in the output jack plate. It had a set of gold reflector knobs which would have been used in 1963 when it came in. I sourced and installed an original pair of black bonnet knobs.

Condition: Very good! The body has significant edge wear from original case storage for so long. The back of the neck shows fading, but the shows very little fading. There are various dings and chips through the finish.

Playability: Perfect. The neck is dead straight and the original large frets show very little wear. The electronics have been cleaned and operate perfectly. The P-90 is killer!

Case: Original brown alligator chipboard case.
