1958 Fender Stratocaster Sunburst Hardtail
Couldn't load pickup availability
This killer three tone Sunburst 1958 Fender Stratocaster came in recently from the family of its original owner out of California! It's a clean example of the non-tremolo (or hardtail) version of the Stratocaster. Apart from some fret work on frets 1 through 9, it appears to be otherwise completely original and untouched. The original tweed case, leather strap, and bridge cover are included.
Measurements: 7.2 lbs / 3.25kg total weight. The neck measures 1.68"/ 42.7mm wide at the nut, 0.82" deep at the 1st fret, and 0.98" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup measures 5.65k ohms, the middle reads 5.78k ohms, and the bridge pickup reads 5.90k ohms.
Originality: All parts, finish, and solder appear to be original except for possibly frets 1-9. The work is extremely subtle to the point that I didn't notice it for a few weeks after acquiring the guitar. The finish on the fretboard doesn't fluoresce any differently than the rest and the fret ends are identical to the rest of the frets. Whatever was done, it was done long ago and very carefully.
Playability: Very good! The neck is straight and the electronics function as intended. The frets don't show much wear, but are the original size and shape.
Condition: Good. Typical finish checking, nicks, dings, and scratches abound giving in classic vintage guitar character. I did not observe any breaks or repairs.
Included: The original tweed case, leather strap, and bridge cover are included.
Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
