1965 Fender Stratocaster Firemist Gold
Couldn't load pickup availability
Just in directly from its original owner is this killer 1965 Fender Stratocaster in original custom color Firemist Gold Metallic finish! This is a late small headstock example with October neck date and 1/10/66 dates on the pickups. It's 100% original with no modifications and in excellent playing condition. Apart from some clear coat reaction and light buckle rash on the back of the body, it's in excellent condition.
Measurements: The neck measures 1.63" wide at the nut, 0.87" deep at the first fret, and 1.02" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 5.83k ohms, the middle pickup reads 5.59k ohms, and the bridge pickup reads 5.78k ohms.
Dates: The potentiometer codes read "137 6549" (137 = Chicago Telephone Supply, 65 = 1965, and 49 = 49th week of the year). The neck heel reads "2OCT65B" where 2 = Stratocaster model code, 65 = 1965, and B = standard neck width 1 5/8". The bridge pickup pencil date is "1 - 10 - 66" indicating that this guitar shipped in January 1966, but has all 1965 features.
Originality: 100% original parts and finish.
Playability: Excellent! The neck is dead straight, truss rod functions as intended, and the electronics are clean and operate as intended. The frets have light wear but still feel nice to play.
Condition: Very good with some ambering of the clear coat, a spot of buckle rash revealing the white undercoat, and some clear coat damage on the back of the body.
Included: The original tremolo arm and hard shell case are included.
Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
