1964 Fender Stratocaster Singapore Red
Couldn't load pickup availability
This 1964 Fender Stratocaster was recently discovered in the cluttered estate of an uncle in Singapore! We don't know its history before that, but the nephew remembers his uncle being a lifelong multi instrumentalist and fan of Hank Marvin & The Shadows. I imported it direct from the nephew out of Singapore. The red finish is over top of the original factory Sunburst finish in a style that's similar to the Selmer style refins common to the UK.
Measurements: 7.8lbs (3.50 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.65" (1 5/8") wide at the nut, 0.86" deep at the first fret, and 1.00" deep at the 12th fret (medium fat taper profile).
Dates: The neck heel stamp reads "2MAR64B" where 2 = Stratocaster model, MAR = March, 64 = 1964, and B = standard neck width 1 5/8". The potentiometer codes read "304 6345" where 304 = Stackpole (manufacturer code), 63 = 1963, and 45 = 45th week. The pickups are stamped "30APR64".
Originality: All parts and finish are original to this guitar except red sprayed over the original Sunburst finish, fresh refret, and the shaft of one of the tone pots.
Playability: Excellent! The neck is straight, frets have no wear, and the electronics operate as intended.
Condition: Southeast Asia jungle condition. Most of the hardware and finish is heavily oxidized. The clear finish on the neck is very dark.
Included: The original white Tolex case is included.
Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
