1958 Gibson Les Paul Custom
Couldn't load pickup availability
Pat's 1958 Gibson Les Paul Custom is by far the coolest we've ever seen. Pat purchased the guitar lightly used in the early 1960s and says that it already had the killer leaf and berry folk art on the front of the body. He played it for decades but never abused it (no neck break or repair). It has a fresh jumbo refret inside the binding and plays like a dream.
Measurements: 9.0 lbs / 4.15 kg total weight. The neck measures 1.68" wide at the nut, 0.90" deep at the 1st fret, and 0.99" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 8.11k ohms, the bridge pickup reads 7.74k ohms, and the bridge + middle reads 3.84k ohms.
Originality: All parts and finish are original except the following: gold paint on top of original finish and black finish overspray on the back of the neck from the first fret to the neck joint (done in late 1950s/early 1960s). 2024 work: clean refret with '59 standard size frets (no plane, frets inside binding), one coil in the neck and middle pickups each rewound. The neck and bridge rings are vintage replacements.
Playability: Excellent! The refret inside the binding feels like original large frets. The middle pickup position output is in phase (original was OOP). It has all the vintage feel and vibe but has no playability issues.
Condition: Very good! The gold parts have typical oxidation. It has never suffered a neck break or repair.
Included: The original case, yellow Les Paul toggle switch tag, the hang tag from the Les Paul Junior that Pat traded for this guitar, humbucker adjustment sheet, tune-o-matic bridge adjustment sheet, Les Paul pick, and a few other bits of Gibson string paperwork.
Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
