Nearly 100 years ago this year, Martin began making ukuleles for one of their customers, the Oliver Ditson Company. These ukuleles were labeled with a stamp that reads "Oliver Ditson Co Boston New York" and some of them had a special wide-waisted body shape. Ditson ukuleles were sold in New York City at Chas. H. Ditson and also in Boston at the Oliver Ditson store.
