This vintage 1965 Epiphone FT-79 N Texan made by Gibson in Kalamazoo, Michigan came through the shop a few years ago. I'm always a vintage guitar buyer but I especially love the 1960s Epiphone guitars. Contact me here to sell a vintage Epiphone guitar

From the 1961 Epiphone catalog, "Texan: a Jumbo flat top guitar with a booming voice, fine response, and a fast-action neck, and many more fine features, exceptional at its popular price. Made with selected Spruce top for finest resonance, Mahogany back and rims, Mahogany neck with adjustable truss rod, Rosewood fingerboard with distinctive pearl inlays. Peghead with pearl inlaid design and name. Attractive ivoiroid purfling ring and large shell celluloid pickguard, Rosewood bridge. Nickel-plated enclosed machine heads. An outstanding instrument!"

This clean 1965 Epiphone FT-79N Texan(+) with original hard shell case has just come from the friend of the original owner and has survived in very nice condition. All parts appear to be original to the guitar except for the heel strap button and strings. The neck is straight, the neck angle is proper, the frets show very little wear, and the guitar is ready to play. It's a lovely sounding guitar that is loud, dry, and leans bass heavy. The nut width is a medium 1 5/8", the same as Paul's Texan. There is a small hole on the bass side rim where an input jack once lived but is now removed. This example has a lovely heel stinger as well as a strange "+" sign on the label so we're calling it the Texan+. We're confident you'll love this Paul McCartney spec 1965 Epiphone FT-79 Texan made by Gibson in Kalamazoo, MI!
