This vintage 1957 Gibson LG-2 acoustic guitar came through the shop a few years ago. I'm always a vintage Gibson guitar buyer but I especially love the acoustic guitars from the 1950s. Please contact me here to sell a vintage Gibson guitar.
The Gibson LG-2 was introduced in 1942 as the next iteration of their 10 year old L-00 model. It featured a Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides, X style top bracing and a lower body width of about 14 and 1/4". With a lightly braced top and smaller sound chamber, the LG-2 produces a lot of volume from lighter picking hand. It's got warm, trebly mid range and a full low end thump.
This crack free 1957 LG-2 is in gorgeous original condition and required nothing but a new set of strings to be in perfect playing condition. The neck is straight and the frets have almost no wear. The setup is a dream with medium/low action and a proper break angle over the saddle. The neck is a full round C shape with a 1 11/16" nut. All original parts means tuners, buttons, nut, saddle, frets, bridge, bridge pins, case, even glue joints. The lacquer is soft and shows very light checking throughout. The case is in solid structural condition but the plastic handle is broken. This gorgeous 1957 Gibson LG-2 is in beautiful aesthetic and solid structural condition. It's ready to go on the road, in the studio or in your private collection (edit: sold!)
