1962 Fender Jazz Bass Black
Couldn't load pickup availability
This 1962 Fender Jazz Bass in original custom color Black finish is in full collector grade all original condition. Currently installed is its original set of blue silk wrapped flat wound strings, string mutes, and still springy pickup foam from when it shipped brand new. Black, being one of the more rare custom color options, looks absolutely killer on this bass. The classic "parallel to the strings" finish checking, clear nail holes, and masking tape with order number mark in the neck pocket are all present and accounted for.
Make and Model: Fender Jazz Bass, Black, tortoise shell guard.
Year: 1962, serial 77020. The potentiometer codes read "304 6209" (304 = Stackpole, 62 = 1962, and 09 = 9th week). The neck heel date reads 7MAR62A.
Specifications: 34″ scale length Rosewood fretboard, 1.50″ nut width, .81″ neck depth at the first fret, 1.01″ neck depth at the 12th fret, 9.3lbs and 4.2kg.
Originality: 100% all original including the strings, mutes, and foam!
Condition: Excellent with no breaks or repairs. The original frets remain in fantastic condition. There is a very small area on the bass horn where a strap most likely rubbed on the finish. Otherwise the original black finish is in great condition.
Playability: Excellent! The frets are in great condition and the neck is straight with a properly working truss rod.
Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
