1952 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop 7.9 lbs
Couldn't load pickup availability
It's our pleasure to list this 1952 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop weighing at only 7.9 lbs! As you may know, this example comes from the very first year Gibson manufactured the Les Paul Model. Made precisely to Les Paul's specifications which included a trapeze tailpiece, goldtop finish, and the serial number stamped in the top of the headstock. It's the lightest Maple cap Les Paul we've ever had.
Measurements: 7.9 lbs / 3.6 kg total weight. The neck measures 1.69" / 42.9mm wide at the nut, 0.87" deep at the first fret, and 0.97" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup measures 8.19k ohms and the bridge reads 7.71k ohms.
Originality: All parts and finish are original except: new old stock capacitors, ground wire, repro output jack plate, and plugged extra output jack hole on the edge of the body next to the original. Much of the original solder has been reflowed to correct the wiring back to its original configuration.
Playability: Excellent! The neck is straight and action is low.
Condition: Excellent! Typical nicks, dings, and scratches, as well as some checking throughout the finish. There is evidence of previous modifications and repairs by the top strap strap button and the output jack. The original nut has a harmless chip on the bass side low E string.
Included: This guitar comes with its original case.
Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all promptly shipped sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
