From the 1960 Gibson catalog, “A wonderful instrument with truly magical tone available in single and double pickup models. The double cutaway body and thin silhouette make it wonderfully easy to hold and play.” High praise from the company simultaneously manufacturing the Les Paul Standard and ES-335td. An ES-330td in Sunburst could be purchased from your local Gibson dealer for $250 in 1960.
This nice 1961 Gibson ES-330td wears its age proudly but remains a wonderfully playing vintage guitar with all the tone and vibe a player could want. All parts appear to be original to the guitar except for a bone nut, a few screws, saddles (corroded originals in the case) and one of tailpiece nuts. It’s possible that the first few frets have been replaced but it was a proper job inside the binding. The frets show wear but have been leveled and play well. We’re confident you’ll love the tone and playability of this 1961 Gibson ES-330td in original Lifton hard case!
